Founded in 1984 and situated at Nabirat (department 24) in the very heart of the Périgord region, traditionally the cradle of French walnut growing, the “Société des Vergers des Coteaux du Périgord” – Sovécopé – first developed its expertise in French walnut and nut kernel growing. Then the company diversified into strawberries from Périgord, which it still keeps today as part of its service to its clients. finally, more recently Sovécopé has returned to its original business and expertise in walnuts and nut kernels, notably French walnuts, in extending its range to other shelled fruit.

Our French producers

The selection of the nuts takes place in accordance to numerous criteria, which are : production site, the variety, the size, the colour, the quality of the kernels, the taste…In France, our walnuts and nut kernels come from various production sites, all having traceability back to the producer :  Conventional, organic, AOP (certificated) walnuts from Périgord.
Our producers possess the best cultural expertise for growing walnuts, so they can tailor their product to fit the various expectations and demands of our consumers : selection of the walnut variety, quality of the products (taste, colour, texture), respect for the environment (N° d’agrément 2400007), health benefits ……
The numerous investments made in our orchards allow us to obtain excellent quality nowadays, as well as a better control of repeating that quality, year in, year out.
We are working nowadays with the support of research stations experimenting in French walnuts, who are exploring those varieties, which respond best to the current and future demands of our clients.

Packaging is done in a wide range of sizes – from 125g to 25 kgs.
Our products are mainly used in patisserie and bread products (chopped kernels), for desserts and salads (broken kernels) and for decoration and coating (whole kernels).
